Ridiculously Random Video Database - Surfing Pororoca - Trust Amazon's Water?
Additional Description:
A mighty wave known as the Pororoca rolls up the Amazon, and other surrounding rivers, in Brazil. It is caused by the tides of the Atlantic Ocean, nearly 200 miles away. This wave is at it's strongest in March and April and attracts world class surfers for competition.
The record that we could find for surfing the longest distance on the Pororoca was set by Picuruta Salazar of Brazil, who in 2003 managed to ride the wave for 37 minutes and travel 12.5 kilometers.
